LeadSmart PH Online Quiz Bee Guidelines

Registration:

• Registration is  Free: The LeadSmart PH Online Quiz Bee is open to everyone! To join, please complete the registration form available on this page. An email will be sent to confirm your registration and provide additional details. Register by October 26, 2024.
• Cost: Participation is entirely free.

Event Schedule:

• Elimination Round: November 16, 2024, at 5:00 PM
• Semi-final: November 23, 2024, at 5:00 PM
• Final: November 30, 2024, at 5:00 PM

How to Participate:

1. Platform: The quiz bee will be hosted via Zoom and streamed live on LeadSmart PH’s Facebook Page. Please join the Zoom room 30 minutes before the event starts.
2. Equipment: Use a desktop, laptop, tablet, or cellphone with a stable internet connection. Ensure your camera and microphone are active throughout the event.
3. Materials: For the semi-finals and finals, have a whiteboard, markers or chalk, and paper and pens for solving questions.
4. Rules:
   • Participants will start with a zero score in the Elimination Round, which will be conducted via Kahoot. Scores will be cumulative throughout the event.
   • The Quiz Master will read each question twice, and questions will also be displayed on screen.
   • Wait for the Quiz Master’s signal before answering during the semi-finals and finals.
   • When time is up, display your answers by holding up your boards or papers to the camera as instructed.
   • Any questions or disputes should be raised with the Quiz Master before the next question is read. The Board of Judges’ decisions are final.
   • The top 50% of participants (rounded up) from the Elimination Round will advance to the Semi-finals, and the top 3 will move to the Finals. Scores will be updated after each question.
   • Ties will be resolved with a Clincher Round, where participants write answers within one minute. The round continues until a correct answer is given.

Prizes:

• Champion: Full scholarship to FSCO-BPI training
• 1st Place: Full scholarship to ServSafe Food Protection Manager and certification
• 2nd Place: Cooper Digital Thermometer
• Consolation Prizes: Free access to ServSafe Food Protection Manager eLearning
  • Prizes will be distributed within 7 to 15 days after the event.

House Rules:

1. Orientation: Attend the contest orientation and dry run on November 9, 2024, at 5:00 PM via Zoom.
2. Preparation: Log in an hour before the quiz starts and join the Zoom room 30 minutes prior to the event.
3. Adherence: Follow all rules and mechanics strictly.
4. Prohibited Items: Calculators, electronic gadgets, and written formulas are not allowed.
5. Environment: Stay in a quiet, private room alone during the quiz.
6. Camera Use: Maintain camera focus on the upper half of your body throughout the contest.
7. Microphone: Keep your microphone on and avoid muting.
8. Movement: Remain in your room during the quiz unless directed otherwise by the Quiz Master.
9. Compliance: Failure to follow the rules will result in automatic disqualification.
